A devastating fire has razed a nine-bedroom house at Tarkwa Makro in the Suame Constituency of the Ashanti Region, claiming the life of a 13-year-old boy and destroying several properties.
According to reports, the fire broke out at about 11:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, and quickly engulfed the building, leaving residents scrambling to save lives and salvage belongings.

Eyewitnesses said residents made desperate attempts to rescue the victim, identified as Hassan, but were unable to reach him due to the intensity of the flames. They later discovered his burnt body wrapped in a blanket after the fire had been brought under control.
Residents also alleged that although the Ghana National Fire Service was contacted immediately, firefighters arrived after the blaze had already caused extensive destruction.

The Ghana National Fire Service eventually extinguished the fire and has since launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

Some residents suspect that a locked “China door” may have prevented Hassan from escaping the burning building, contributing to the tragic loss of his life. However, the exact cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death remain under investigation.
