Black Sherif emerged as the biggest winner at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards after clinching the prestigious Artiste of the Year award alongside four other honours.

The 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards lit up the Grand Arena in Accra on Saturday night as Ghana’s biggest music stars were honoured for their achievements over the past year.

Leading the night was Black Sherif, who reclaimed the coveted Artiste of the Year award, repeating his 2023 success after an impressive year marked by strong international streaming numbers and chart success.

The “Iron Boy” hitmaker secured a total of five awards, including Album/EP of the Year for Iron Boy, Best Afropop Song for Sacrifice, Best Hiphop Song for Where Dem Boys, and Songwriter of the Year.

Medikal also enjoyed a successful night, taking home four awards, including Best Hiplife/Hip-Hop Artiste and Most Popular Song of the Year for Shoulder, his collaboration with Shatta Wale and Beeztrap Kotm.

Other notable winners included Kofi Kinaata, who won Best Highlife Artiste and Best Highlife Song with It Is Finished, while Moliy earned recognition for her global success with Shake It To The Max Remix, winning International Collaboration of the Year and Best Reggae/Dancehall Song.

In the gospel category, Diana Hamilton was named Best Gospel Artiste, while Wendy Shay won Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste.

Veteran highlife icon Daddy Lumba was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his immense contribution to Ghanaian music.
