Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has destooled his linguist, Kyeame Kofi Nti, following a decision reached at an Asanteman Council meeting held at the Manhyia Palace.
In a statement shared on Facebook on Monday, April 20, the Palace indicated that the decision was based on several concerns and allegations raised during the meeting.
Among the issues discussed were doubts about his royal lineage and concerns regarding his inability to properly perform the duties associated with invoking the Otumfuo Ntam Kɛseɛ, a sacred responsibility of the Kyeame.
He was also accused of mishandling and retaining multiple invocations of the sacred oath beyond what is traditionally permitted for his office.

The Council further noted that he failed to properly report the use of the Ntam Kɛseɛ, describing it as a serious breach of protocol for someone in such a respected position.
Additionally, the meeting considered allegations concerning the alleged improper enstoolment of an Ayaase Dikro, which was brought before the Council by the Ayaasehene.
Following deliberations, the Asanteman Council resolved to remove him from office.
