John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress’s presidential candidate, has shared his vision for Ghana ahead of the upcoming December elections.

Speaking at the NDC Governance Forum on October 31 in Accra, he emphasized his dedication to promoting good governance and restoring trust among Ghanaians by tackling corruption.

Mahama outlined a key strategy for his potential administration: a thorough review and enforcement of the asset declaration process to enhance transparency and fight corruption.

He declared, “I will require all members of my administration to declare their assets within 30 days of taking office.”

He also addressed the urgent need to rebuild public trust in institutions, referencing recent concerning findings from Afrobarometer. “We must collectively work to restore confidence in our public institutions,” he stated.

In addition to asset declarations, Mahama committed to revising the conduct codes for public officials to ensure ethical leadership, professionalism, and efficiency, emphasizing the importance of making the public sector responsive to citizens’ needs while embodying humility and service.
