Interior Ministry Revises Curfew Hours in Gushegu District Amid Security Concerns

The Ministry of the Interior has announced updated curfew hours for parts of the Gushegu District, following recommendations from the National Security Council.

According to the Ministry, the new curfew takes effect from Monday, April 20, 2026, running daily from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

The directive affects several communities, including Paboni, Yidaani, Kukpok, Busun No. 1 and No. 2, Nagnani, Nayagile, Donbin, Kolik, Tinyongu, and Klokpan.

Authorities say the adjustment forms part of ongoing efforts to address tensions in the area and strengthen public safety.

Residents, traditional leaders, and youth groups have been encouraged to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as steps are taken to restore lasting peace.

The Ministry also urged all stakeholders to resolve disputes through dialogue rather than violence.

In addition, a complete ban has been imposed on the possession, carrying, or use of arms, ammunition, and other offensive weapons within the affected communities.

Government says the measures are necessary to prevent further escalation and ensure stability in the district.
