  • Urges delegates to reject vote-buying and embrace character, sacrifice, and selfless leadership

In a stirring and deeply reflective speech, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong officially launched his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections, declaring himself “the credible Chief Servant” the party and nation need in this critical moment of political and social transformation.

Addressing party faithful, former MPs, and delegates at the launch of his campaign headquarters in Accra, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong called for a complete return to the founding principles of the NPP—Service, Sacrifice, and Selflessness.

His speech, heavy with emotional conviction, history, and policy vision, painted a sobering picture of the party’s decline and the nation’s struggles.

“The soul of our Party cries out for rescue. The spirit of our nation longs for renewal,” he declared. “We must return to our roots—where politics was a noble calling, not a market of parochial interest.”

A Call for Honest Reflection and Radical Renewal

Ing. Kwabena Agyepong described the NPP as being at “its lowest point in decades” and condemned what he called a “creeping culture of monetization” within internal contests. He urged delegates to resist being manipulated with petty inducements and instead “vote for enduring values and character.”

In a striking metaphor, he likened manipulated voters to Stalin’s plucked fowl, following the same hands that harmed them:

“Delegates, do not sell your vote for grains that cannot change your life.”

He lamented the high youth unemployment, poor salary systems, and daily traffic nightmares that plague Ghanaians, while questioning why a resource-rich nation like Ghana still imports basic goods like tomatoes and toothpicks.

“Why can’t we be bold like China or Benin?” he asked. “Ghana deserves better!”

Reimagining Ghana: Policy, Infrastructure, and Integrity

Ing. Kwabena Agyepong laid out his vision for “A New Dawn”—a Ghana led by meritocracy, guided by long-term plans, and rebuilt on the foundations of justice, productivity, and opportunity.

As an engineer, he emphasized city reengineering, infrastructure development, technical education, and local industry value chains.
He pledged to fix the “sick salary regime” and build office and housing complexes closer to workplaces to ease traffic congestion and boost productivity.

On corruption, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong did not mince words:

“Law and order will be enforced ruthlessly. Corruption must be punished—not managed.”

A Life Built on Loyalty, Service, and Moral Integrity

Speaking from personal experience, KAA shared the tragic loss of his father—Justice Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong—during the June 30 abductions, a moment that shaped his lifelong dedication to justice and service.

“Destiny forced me early into this life of responsibility,” he said. “But I chose to rise… to honor my father’s legacy.”

He recounted over 40 years of service to the NPP, from his early activism to serving as General Secretary and Press Secretary to President Kufuor. Notably, he highlighted that even after his suspension from party office, he returned to help the NPP win the 2020 elections.

“I have no scandal. I have no baggage. I am the bridge between our founding roots and our future,” Ing. Kwabena Agyepong declared.

“The Time for KAA Is Now”

Calling for unity, Agyepong warned against selecting candidates whose campaigns are steeped in division and adversarial rhetoric.

“Let us not trouble the party with a choice that will require endless reconciliation,” he urged.

He ended with a powerful affirmation:

“I, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, stand ready to work with you—ready to unite our ranks, ready to rebuild, ready to restore hope.”

The Final Rallying Cry

“Let us rise together! Let us return to our roots! The time for renewal is now! The time for hope is now! The time for KAA is now!”
