Accommodation Committee Chair says no official court notice has been received regarding any attempt to stop the July 19 event

Story Highlights
  • No court injunction has been served on the NPP to halt the July 19 conference
  • Divine Agorhom says all preparations for the event are proceeding smoothly
  • Reports of a legal challenge have not affected the committee’s work

Divine Otoo Agorhom, Chairman of the Accommodation Committee for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming National Delegates Conference, has firmly denied reports of any court injunction halting the event.

This comes amid claims that two party members, Shamsudeen Iddrisu and Boateng Kwadwo, have filed a motion at the High Court in Accra seeking an interlocutory injunction to stop the July 19 conference.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Agorhom, who also serves as the NPP’s Greater Accra Regional Chairman, emphasized that the party has not been served with any legal notice. He assured that preparations are progressing smoothly and uninterrupted.

“We met today, and as of the time I left the stadium and came to your studio, nothing of that sort has reached us,” he said. “So as far as I’m concerned, the conference is happening on Saturday—nothing has changed.”

He reiterated the committee’s commitment to ensuring a well-organized event, with all logistics and accommodation arrangements already in place.
