Two Arrested for Posing as Ghana Gold Board Taskforce Officers to Extort Money
Suspects used fake identities and equipment to extort gold dealers; court remands them as investigations continue

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two men—Foster Delord, 40, and Prince Worvi, 38—for impersonating officials from the Ghana Gold Board Taskforce and extorting money from unsuspecting gold dealers.
The suspects, who falsely claimed to be former military officers, visited multiple gold buying centers across the region, posing as authorized taskforce personnel.
Police recovered several items from the suspects, including:

One pair of handcuffs

One can of pepper spray

One electric shocker

A full uniform set

GH¢500 in cash
Delord and Worvi were arraigned before the Tarkwa Circuit Court and have been remanded into police custody while investigations continue.
The Regional Police Command has urged the public to exercise caution and verify the identities of anyone claiming to represent a government agency or taskforce.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to cracking down on impersonators and maintaining public order.
President John Mahama has also ordered a nationwide clampdown on individuals fraudulently presenting themselves as anti-galamsey task force members, stressing the importance of lawful and transparent efforts in the fight against illegal mining.
