Incumbent Chairman Michael Sanko has been overwhelmingly retained as Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Spain Branch after securing a resounding endorsement from delegates during the Branch Executive Elections.

Mr. Sanko was re-elected with 53 YES votes, 0 NO votes, and one spoiled ballot, reflecting the confidence delegates have in his leadership and vision for the branch.

The elections, supervised by the NPP Spain Branch Election Committee, were conducted peacefully, transparently, and in accordance with the party’s electoral guidelines. The exercise saw delegates elect a new team of executives to steer the affairs of the branch for the next term.

Other executives elected unopposed and endorsed by delegates include:

  • First Vice Chairman: Kingsley Sarkodie – 53 YES votes (1 spoiled ballot)

  • Secretary: A. Kofi Morgan – 54 YES votes, 0 NO votes

  • Deputy Secretary: Salome Krofaa Donkor – 54 YES votes, 0 NO votes

  • Organiser: Gifty Asantewaa – 54 YES votes, 0 NO votes

  • Treasurer: Isaac Bio – 53 YES votes, 0 NO votes

  • Women’s Organiser: Agnes Hannah O’Brien – 53 YES votes, 0 NO votes

  • Communications Director: Ernest Ofori La Kumi – 53 YES votes, 0 NO votes

In the election for the Nasara Organiser position, candidate Ibrahim Mohammed failed to secure the required endorsement, polling 0 YES votes, 52 NO votes, and one spoiled ballot.

In a statement issued after the elections, Chairman of the NPP Spain Branch Election CommitteeKwabena Frimpong, congratulated all the successful candidates and commended every aspirant for participating in the democratic process.

“The Election Committee extends its heartfelt congratulations to all candidates who have been elected to serve as Branch Executives. Your willingness to serve the party is highly appreciated,” the statement said.

The Committee also encouraged candidates who were unsuccessful to remain committed to the ideals and vision of the New Patriotic Party, emphasizing that service to the party goes beyond holding elected office.

“The contributions of every member remain invaluable to the growth and success of the NPP Spain Branch. We encourage those who were not successful to continue supporting the party and wish them better luck in future elections,” the Committee added.

The Election Committee further expressed gratitude to delegates, observers, and stakeholders for their cooperation and commitment to ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process.

With the successful conclusion of the elections, attention now shifts to the newly elected executives, led by Michael Sanko, as they assume responsibility for strengthening the NPP Spain Branch, promoting unity among members, and advancing the party’s objectives.

The statement, signed by Kwabena Frimpong, Chairman of the NPP Spain Branch Election Committee, reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to delivering “Free, Fair, Transparent and Credible Elections.”
