Israel Launches Strikes on Tehran After Accusing Iran of Ceasefire Breach
Attack comes just two hours after truce brokered by Trump and Qatar; Iran denies any breach.

- Israeli forces launch strikes on Tehran, targeting regime sites
- Iran denies the attack and warns of a firm response to further aggression
Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has accused Iran of violating a newly brokered ceasefire just two hours after it was agreed upon.
The deal, negotiated with the help of former U.S. President Donald Trump and Qatari officials, was intended to halt the escalating conflict between the two nations.
Katz announced that Israel would “respond forcefully to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran.” The decision comes after Iranian missiles allegedly targeted Israeli territory following the agreement—claims which Tehran strongly denies, according to state media.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council issued a stern warning, stating that “any further aggression will be met with a decisive, firm, and timely response.” Iranian officials had previously said they would honor the ceasefire as long as Israel did the same.
Overnight, Tehran experienced one of its most intense bombardments since the start of the conflict, according to a BBC Persian correspondent. Meanwhile, Israeli officials report four fatalities from the ongoing hostilities.
The escalation follows Iran’s earlier missile barrage on a U.S. airbase, launched in retaliation for weekend strikes on its nuclear facilities. Qatar later confirmed that all incoming missiles were successfully intercepted.
