Senya Beraku Gunmen Raid: GAF Launches Sea Search and Rescue Operation

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has deployed naval and air assets to conduct a large-scale search and rescue operation following an armed attack on fishermen off the coast of Senya Beraku in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region.
According to official reports, the Ghana Navy, with support from the Ghana Air Force, commenced the operation at dawn, about 35 nautical miles offshore.
The mission is aimed at locating and assisting more than 50 fishermen who were left stranded after armed men attacked their vessels during a night fishing expedition. The assailants reportedly fired warning shots, held the victims at gunpoint, and made away with seven outboard motors, generators, and other valuables.
The Ghana Armed Forces described the operation as ongoing and urged the public to remain calm as efforts continue. Authorities assured that further updates will be provided as the rescue mission progresses.
