Market women from several major markets in Kumasi, including Kejetia, Dubai, Bantama, Race Course, and Tafo, on Monday held a press conference to express their concerns over the alleged demolition of a 10-storey building belonging to Mr. Oti Bonsu, a prominent businessman from the Ashanti Region.
The women accused Mrs. Samira Bawumia of using her position as Second Lady to influence the demolition, describing the action as an abuse of power.
According to them, the incident raises concerns about what they believe could happen should she become First Lady in the future.
The market women further appealed to delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to vote against Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, citing what they described as the “rude behaviour” of his wife.
