Legendary Highlife musician Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, now a chief known by the stool name Nana Adieaemuyeduru Trimude Kaakyire Kwame Appiah I, has opened up on his personal life, family, and ongoing musical journey in a candid interview promoting his new song, Dance Party, featuring King Paluta.

The musician, renowned for his contributions to Ghanaian Highlife, stunned fans by revealing that he is the proud father of 18 children with nine different women.

“I have 18 children; do you think I’m playing? Giving birth to 18 children with only nine women. I know the public will criticize, but if the thing is true, why should you hide it? This is me,” he said.

He emphasized that his children all know each other and, when gathered, could easily be mistaken for siblings from the same mother.

According to him his youngest child is just four months old, and he says he is aiming to have 25 children eventually.

Reflecting on his family, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah highlighted his eldest son, Malcom, who is aspiring to be a musician, and one of his daughters, Nana Agyeiwaa, who loved music but chose a banking career in the UK instead.

“I haven’t stopped giving birth,” he joked, underscoring his commitment to his family.

The highlife legend also shared his unique approach to health and lifestyle.

“I don’t take medicine; this is a gift from God. Some people yearn for children but can’t get. Since I am a man who is alive, if you cross me, something will happen,” he said, joking while affirming his vitality.

He also revealed that he abstains from alcohol and smoking, drinking only water.

On his legacy, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah stressed that he is committed to ensuring his children lead fulfilling lives and avoid disputes over his properties after he is gone.

“According to me, if you are my child, I try to let you get a better life and stop fighting for my properties when I’m no more,” he explained.
