Ghana Water Limited (GWL), Ashanti Region, has announced the completion of repair works on the transmission pipeline at the Barekese Water Treatment Plant, paving the way for the resumption of full water production and supply to affected areas.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the utility provider confirmed that the repair works were completed at 4:00 a.m. on the same day, ahead of the initially scheduled timeframe.
The company said the early completion of the works reflects the commitment, professionalism, and dedication of its technical and operational teams, who worked around the clock to restore services promptly.
The maintenance exercise had temporarily affected water supply to parts of the Kumasi Metropolitan Area and surrounding communities, prompting GWL to appeal for patience and cooperation from customers during the period.

Management expressed gratitude to residents, stakeholders, and the general public for their understanding and support throughout the repair period.
