Global music icon Shakira has once again been tapped to deliver the official soundtrack for football’s biggest stage, as she teams up with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy for the 2026 FIFA World Cup theme song titled “Dai Dai.”

The announcement was made in a joint Instagram post with Global Citizen and FIFA, where Shakira shared a one-minute teaser of the upcoming song and music video, set for official release on May 14.

In the clip, the Colombian star appears in a vibrant outfit, singing from Brazil’s iconic Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, while aerial shots of the stadium flash the message: “We are ready.”

The song features a lively fusion of reggaetón and Afrobeats, blending Shakira’s signature Latin pop sound with Burna Boy’s global Afro-fusion style, creating what is already being described as a high-energy World Cup anthem.

A line from the track hints at its uplifting message: “You from the day you were born / here in the space you belong … what broke you once, made you strong.”

This marks Shakira’s second official FIFA World Cup song, following her legendary 2010 hit “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, which became one of the most successful World Cup songs in history and dominated global charts for months.

The news comes shortly after Shakira performed before millions at a free festival in Rio de Janeiro and announced new U.S. tour dates for her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour.
