The Ghana Police Service, Central East Regional Command, has arrested an 18-year-old suspect in connection with an alleged defilement case involving a 15-year-old girl at Anomansa in Senya Bereku in the Central Region.

The suspect, identified as Isaac Gyan, also known as Kwame Okoto, was arrested following investigations into the complaint.

According to a statement from the Public Affairs Unit of the Command, the incident was reported to the Senya Bereku District Police on May 23, 2026.

Police say the suspect is alleged to have invited the girl into his room on May 22 under the pretext of having a conversation.

The victim reported that she later raised concerns during the incident but was unable to escape.

She was subsequently issued a medical form by police and has since received medical attention.

The Central East Regional Police Command says it is treating the matter seriously and has urged the public to report similar cases to help ensure justice and protection for vulnerable persons.
