National Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has stated that the party remains the only political group in Ghana committed to implementing policies that directly improve the lives of all citizens.

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Ghana Se Sen Show on Monday, March 30, 2026, Mr. Boadu emphasized that the NPP’s ideology is rooted in serving the broader interest of Ghanaians rather than pursuing power for its own sake.

“If it were only about our survival, we wouldn’t contest elections. We do so for the sake of others, and that is why many people join the NPP,” he stated.

According to him, the NPP has consistently demonstrated its commitment to pro-people governance through impactful social interventions that have touched households across the country.

He cited flagship programmes such as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Free Maternal Care, GETFund, and Free Senior High School (Free SHS) as clear examples of policies designed to benefit every Ghanaian.

Mr. Boadu further noted that the World Bank has recently recognized the Free SHS policy as one of the most impactful and beneficial initiatives implemented in the country, reinforcing the NPP’s track record in social policy delivery.

Touching on the party’s electoral strongholds, he acknowledged the critical role of the Ashanti Region in the NPP’s growth, victories, and overall success over the years, stressing that its contribution cannot be underestimated.

However, he admitted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made gains in the region during the last two elections, a development he believes the party must address moving forward.
