NIA to Create Over 120 Jobs with Rollout of 24-Hour Prestige Centres
More than 20 centres will operate around the clock, providing convenient Ghana Card services while creating new jobs through private-sector partnerships.

- Over 120 jobs to be created
- More than 20 Prestige Centres planned
- Ghana Card services to run 24/7
The National Identification Authority (NIA) is set to create more than 120 employment opportunities as it expands the rollout of 24-hour Prestige Centres across Ghana.
The initiative will involve the establishment of more than 20 centres in various parts of the country, allowing the public to access Ghana Card services beyond the Authority’s traditional working hours.
The move forms part of efforts to support the government’s 24-hour economy agenda while improving access to essential identification services.
NIA Executive Secretary, Wisdom Kwaku Deku, announced the plans on Wednesday, August 12, during a tour of the Authority’s first 24-hour Prestige Centre in Accra.
He disclosed that two additional centres would be opened in Kumasi over the weekend, with more facilities expected to be established in other parts of the country.
According to Mr Deku, the centres will operate a three-shift system to ensure that services remain available around the clock.
Services to be provided include first-time Ghana Card registration, replacement of lost or damaged cards, and updating of personal information.
Mr Deku said the NIA expects to create more than 120 jobs through private entities that have applied to operate the Prestige Centres.
He explained that the partnership with private operators would help the NIA expand its reach while creating new employment opportunities.
The 24-hour centres are also expected to benefit people whose work schedules make it difficult to visit NIA offices during regular working hours, including those who need services on weekends.
Mr Deku stressed that the increasing importance of the Ghana Card makes it necessary for the NIA to provide more flexible and convenient access to its services, particularly for people who require urgent card replacements or updates to their records.
