PSG Beat Aston Villa 2-1 to Retain UEFA Super Cup
Désiré Doué’s second-half winner secured PSG’s second consecutive UEFA Super Cup title after a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa.

Paris Saint-Germain have successfully defended their UEFA Super Cup title after defeating Aston Villa 2-1 in Salzburg, Austria.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG in the 20th minute before Aston Villa’s 17-year-old striker Brian Madjo equalised shortly before half-time.
Désiré Doué restored PSG’s lead in the 61st minute after converting a pass from Ousmane Dembélé. The goal was initially ruled out for offside but was awarded following a VAR review, with Matty Cash judged to have played Doué onside.
Madjo’s goal was particularly notable as he became the youngest player to score in a UEFA Super Cup final on his competitive debut for Aston Villa.
The victory makes PSG the first club since Real Madrid in 2016 and 2017 to win the UEFA Super Cup in consecutive years.
The French champions will now turn their attention to a new season in which they could compete for as many as six trophies.
PSG’s victory further underlines their dominance after a campaign that saw them crowned European champions, while Aston Villa will take positives from the performance of their teenage goalscorer Madjo.
