The National Democratic Congress (NDC) committee investigating alleged inducements and vote buying during the Ayawaso East parliamentary primary is scheduled to submit its report on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The three-member committee was established to probe claims that some aspirants attempted to influence delegates through bribery during the party’s primary on Saturday, February 7.
One allegation under scrutiny involves parliamentary aspirant Baba Jamal, who is accused of distributing television sets, money, and other items to delegates to sway their votes. Although Baba Jamal ultimately won the primary, the results have sparked controversy, with some NDC leaders and the parliamentary Majority calling for annulment, a move strongly opposed by constituency party executives.
Speaking in an interview on Monday, February 9, committee member Inusah Fuseini emphasized that the panel’s role is strictly fact-finding.
He explained that the team has been engaging all relevant stakeholders involved in the primaries, including party officials, candidates, and constituency and regional executives.
“We are a fact-finding committee, so we must gather evidence. In doing that, we must speak to all persons who were connected to the Ayawaso East NDC primaries,” Fuseini said.
The committee’s report, expected today, will provide recommendations that could guide the party’s next steps in handling the allegations and addressing concerns over the conduct of the primaries.
