MTN Ghana Foundation has reiterated its commitment to education as a catalyst for national development, as beneficiaries of its flagship Bright Scholarship programme emerged as top graduates and valedictorians in various tertiary institutions.
The success of the scholars highlights the impact of the Foundation’s investment in academically gifted but financially challenged students, aimed at expanding access to higher education and building future leaders.
Eight Bright Scholarship recipients were honoured for outstanding academic performance, resilience, and leadership, with many of them achieving top honours at their respective universities.

Speaking at a ceremony to celebrate the scholars, Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer of MTN Ghana, praised the graduates for turning opportunity into excellence.
She said their achievements reflect not only intelligence but also determination, urging them to maintain a lifelong commitment to excellence and personal growth.
“What you have achieved is not simply the result of intelligence; it is a testament to your tenacity,” she said, adding that MTN Ghana remains proud of their accomplishments.

She encouraged the graduates to remain confident in their abilities, noting that they “belong in every room” they enter and should continue to aim high with discipline and purpose.
A member of the scholarship selection panel, Daniel Boateng, described the selection process as highly competitive, noting that the quality of applicants was exceptional.
He said the overwhelming talent discovered during the selection process even led the Foundation to increase the number of beneficiaries beyond initial plans.

One of the beneficiaries, Issahaku Hamdia, a Nursing graduate from the University for Development Studies, shared how the scholarship transformed her life.
She said the support not only eased her financial burden but also boosted her confidence and sense of purpose.
“When I first heard about the scholarship, I was not sure I stood a chance. But MTN believed in me before I fully believed in myself,” she said.

The MTN Bright Scholarship remains a key pillar of the MTN Ghana Foundation’s education support strategy, aimed at nurturing talented students from underserved communities.
Through the programme, MTN Ghana continues to position itself as a “Force for Good,” investing in education to empower young people and contribute to national development.
