A man believed to be in his 30s has been found dead on the Kasoa–Accra Highway at the SCC area following Monday’s heavy rainfall, as police launch investigations into the incident.

The body was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday, June 30, lying in the middle of the highway.

The cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been established. Police have since commenced investigations to determine what led to the man’s death.

Meanwhile, traffic along the busy Kasoa–Accra Highway has deteriorated significantly after floodwaters submerged portions of the road.

The flooding has forced vehicles travelling in both directions to share a single carriageway, causing heavy congestion and lengthy delays for motorists and commuters.

The incident comes in the wake of torrential rains that have battered parts of the Greater Accra Region over the past two days, leaving several roads and communities flooded and disrupting movement across the capital.
