Hon. Mba Zakaria, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya North, has addressed claims that a newly refurbished school block was painted in NDC colours, insisting the design reflects Ghana’s national colours and the school’s identity.

In an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Ghana SE Sen Show, the DCE explained that the school, a Roman Catholic institution, influenced the choice of colours.

“The students wear green uniforms, so the building is painted yellow and green. These are Ghana colours, not political party colours,” he said.

Hon. Zakaria emphasized that the project aimed to make the school unique.

“If you are doing something, you must do it uniquely. This ultramodern building is different from all schools in Atwima Nwabiagya North. When someone does something good, they must be commended,” he added.

He further noted that Catholic school authorities oversee all school projects and can request colour changes if necessary.

“We are here to serve and will always do what is right. I do not see any NDC colours here only Ghana colours,” he stressed.

The refurbishment followed severe rains in 2025 that unroofed the school, prompting calls for urgent intervention from students, residents, and local authorities. These concerns were highlighted on the Lawson Media Morning Show Ghana Se Sen, hosted by Kwame Tanko.
