Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr have agreed a deal worth up to £43.7 million to sign Chelsea forward João Félix.
The 25-year-old Portuguese international has been granted permission to travel to Riyadh to undergo a medical and finalize the transfer, where he will join compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al-Nassr reportedly fended off competition from Félix’s former club Benfica to secure the forward’s signature.
Chelsea initially paid £45 million to Atletico Madrid to acquire Félix permanently last summer. He also spent six months on loan at AC Milan earlier this year, a move that brought in a £5 million fee for the London club.
This latest sale is part of Chelsea’s ongoing efforts to balance the books following a major investment in their squad. The Blues, fresh off winning the Club World Cup, have already sold goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga, along with winger Noni Madueke.
In total, Chelsea have raised around £130 million from player sales this summer. Several others, including Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, and Armando Broja, are reportedly available for transfer as the club looks to comply with UEFA’s financial regulations.
Chelsea have spent approximately £212 million during the current window, bringing in striker Liam Delap, winger Jamie Gittens, and forward João Pedro. The club also continues to monitor potential moves for midfielder Xavi Simons and defender Jorrel Hato.
UEFA has placed the club under scrutiny following an initial £27 million fine. Chelsea must finish the summer with a positive net transfer balance or risk sanctions, including a potential ban on registering new signings for the upcoming Champions League campaign.
