Deputy Protocol Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Frimpong, has issued a strong call for unity and decency as the party enters the final stages of its presidential primary scheduled for 31/01/2025.
In a message posted on Facebook, Mr. Frimpong appealed to party supporters to promote their preferred candidates with respect and dignity, stressing that internal competition must not divide the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The first part of Mr. Frimpong’s post reads:
“As we head into the final leg of this NPP presidential primary, let’s market our preferred candidates with respect.”
Mr. Frimpong emphasized that the strength of the NPP has always been rooted in discipline, unity, and commitment to national development. He reminded party members that once the internal contest is over, all energies must rally behind the elected flagbearer to secure victory in the next general election.
The concluding part of his message stated:
“No insults, no derogatory attacks, because after the primaries, we all have a duty to rally behind the winner to become President on December 7, 2028.”
He further highlighted the party’s long-standing tradition of peaceful internal democratic practices, with all members expected to support the elected flagbearer.
The message comes at a crucial time, as tensions rise and campaign rhetoric intensifies across various camps throughout constituencies, regions, and the country at large.
Kwabena Frimpong’s call is expected to encourage more respectful, issue-based campaigning among party supporters as the NPP prepares for a decisive moment in its political journey toward the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.
