Sandra Okunzuwa has shared the emotional difficulties actors face when performing romantic scenes in movies, revealing that kissing scenes once contributed to the end of one of her relationships.

Speaking during an interview on the BTS Reality Show, the Nollywood actress said many people wrongly believe actors enjoy intimate scenes on set, when in reality they are often awkward and emotionally exhausting.

According to her, performing such scenes in front of cast and crew members makes it difficult for actors to feel comfortable.

“If there are many people watching you while filming a kissing scene, it is impossible to enjoy it,” she explained, adding that actors usually focus on professionalism rather than emotions during filming.

Sandra Okunzuwa noted that she would personally prefer romantic scenes to be minimized in movies if audiences could still enjoy the productions without them.

Impact on Personal Relationships

The actress also revealed that intimate acting roles can create tension in personal relationships, especially when partners struggle to separate acting from reality.

She recounted an experience where her former boyfriend confronted her after receiving a video of her kissing another actor during a movie shoot.

According to her, the situation eventually contributed to the breakdown of the relationship.

“It is not easy, and I understand why some people say they cannot date actresses,” she stated.

Sandra Okunzuwa added that not everyone is emotionally prepared to handle the demands and public nature of the acting profession.
