A National Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party, John Boadu, has called for a comprehensive rebranding of the party, stressing the need to realign its image with the expectations of Ghanaians.
According to the former General Secretary, the NPP must take deliberate steps to rebuild public trust and reconnect with its grassroots base as it prepares for future political contests.
Mr. Boadu made the call during an interview on Ghana Se Sen, a morning programme on Lawson TV, hosted by Kwame Tanko, also known as K.T.
He noted that while the party has chalked significant achievements in governance over the years, its current public image does not adequately reflect these successes. This, he argued, has contributed to growing disconnection between the party and sections of the electorate.
“Rebranding is not just about changing logos or slogans; it is about redefining who we are, what we stand for, and how we communicate our values to the people,” he stated.
Mr. Boadu emphasized that any meaningful rebranding effort must focus on strengthening internal unity, improving discipline among party ranks, and crafting clear, consistent messaging that resonates with ordinary Ghanaians.
He further indicated that the process should involve broad stakeholder consultations within the party, including grassroots members, executives, and supporters, to ensure that the new direction reflects the collective aspirations of the NPP.
The National Chairman hopeful also highlighted the importance of restoring confidence among the youth and first-time voters, describing them as critical to the party’s future electoral success.
Mr. Boadu is one of several prominent figures expected to contest for key leadership positions within the party in its upcoming internal elections. His latest remarks are seen by political observers as part of efforts to outline his vision and distinguish his candidacy.
The call for rebranding comes at a time when the NPP, like many political parties, is reassessing its strategies and internal structures following recent political developments.
As the race for leadership intensifies, issues of party identity, unity, and electoral strategy are expected to dominate discussions among party faithful in the months ahead.
