I’ll Work Relentlessly to Secure Victory for NPP in 2028 — Bawumia
NPP flagbearer urges unity and renewed commitment ahead of 2028 general elections

- Bawumia pledges to work day and night for 2028 victory.
- Says NPP can defeat NDC with unity.
- Urges members to rally behind “phase two” rebuilding efforts.
The 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has reiterated his determination to lead the party back to power in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on Wednesday, February 11, during a visit by a group of party delegates to his private residence, Dr Bawumia expressed gratitude for their show of support and pledged to justify their confidence in his leadership.
“You have saved the party by your action. The message is out there, and in 2028, the same message cannot be used against us; rather, it will strengthen us,” he said.
Dr Bawumia assured the delegates that he would dedicate himself fully to the party’s mission of reclaiming power.
“Because you have reposed your confidence in me, I will work tirelessly to ensure we win in 2028. I will not rest. I will work day and night to bring victory to the NPP,” he stated.
He stressed that unity within the party would be key to electoral success, arguing that the NPP has the numerical advantage over the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but must mobilise its base effectively.
“When you look at the data, we have more numbers than the NDC. What we need is unity. In 2024, many of our members did not vote. If we are able to bring everyone on board, we can win,” he said.
Describing the party’s rebuilding efforts as entering a new phase, Dr Bawumia urged supporters to remain committed and actively participate in strengthening the party ahead of the next election.
“Our task is clear. We are moving into phase two, and I appeal to all of you to support us in this effort,” he added.
