I Didn’t Sell a Single Foot of STC Land — Nana Akomea Clears His Name
Former STC MD Nana Akomea rejects claims of land sales, blaming previous NDC administration for disposing of company assets

- Former STC Managing Director Nana Akomea denies selling any company land during his tenure
- He claims the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration sold portions of STC land
- Akomea emphasizes that all claims linking him to the disposal of STC assets are false and misleading
Former Managing Director of the State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea, has firmly rejected claims that he sold any STC land during his tenure.
In an interview on Monday, December 8, 2025, Mr. Akomea described the allegations as politically motivated and entirely false, stressing that no company property was disposed of under his leadership.
“I haven’t sold even a single foot of STC land. So I don’t understand why somebody would make such claims,” he said.
He further argued that it was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration that sold portions of STC property in the past. Mr. Akomea cited the sale of around four acres of STC land in Takoradi to retail chain Melcom in 2010, during a period when the company faced financial difficulties.
He added that the NDC also sold the MD’s official bungalow at Ridge and four acres at the STC headquarters to BCL, forcing him to secure alternative accommodation during his tenure.
“The people who actually sold STC land were NDC when they were in government… They sold about 4 acres of STC land when the company was in difficulty,” he explained.
