No Bail for Nana Agradaa: High Court Rejects Application Pending Appeal
Court instructs Circuit Court to provide all documents related to the appeal

- High Court denies Nana Agradaa bail pending appeal
- Circuit Court directed to submit appeal documents
- Legal team continues efforts to overturn 15-year sentence
The High Court in Amasaman has refused bail to Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, as she awaits the outcome of her appeal against a recent conviction.
Confirming the court’s decision in an interview on Tuesday, July 15, her lawyer, Dr. Bernard Kofi Asamoah, explained that their request for bail pending appeal was denied. The court instead instructed the Circuit Court to submit all necessary documents related to the appeal process.
“We requested bail pending appeal, but the court did not grant it. It has directed the Circuit Court to provide all documents needed for the appeal. We will continue the process,” Dr. Asamoah stated.
This development follows the legal team’s decision to challenge Nana Agradaa’s 15-year prison sentence, handed down on July 3 by the Circuit Court, presided over by Justice Evelyn Asamoah. The court found her guilty of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement.
Her lawyers, led by Richard Asare Baffour, have filed a notice of appeal claiming the trial was unfair and the verdict unjust. A formal petition was submitted to the High Court on July 7 to overturn both the conviction and the sentence.
Despite the court’s refusal to grant bail, Nana Agradaa’s legal team has affirmed its commitment to pursuing the appeal through all available legal avenues.
