Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged party members to forgive past campaign grievances and focus on unity as the party charts its path forward.

Speaking at the National Thanksgiving Service at the University of Professional Studies, Accra on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Dr. Bawumia called on party faithful to move beyond the hurt and tensions that arose during the recent campaigns.

“On this day of thanksgiving, I sincerely ask that we forgive one another for the unpalatable things we may have said during the campaign,” he said.

He stressed that reconciliation is key as the NPP prepares for the next political cycle.

“I am encouraged by the efforts many of you have made to reach out to your brothers and sisters after the elections. While the work of healing is not yet complete, I believe we have made a good start, and I commend all patriots for the steps taken so far,” Dr. Bawumia added.
