The charred remains of 38-year-old Ghana Immigration Officer, Steffen King Amoah, also known as Nana Kofi, have been found at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya, days after his family reported him missing.

Amoah was last seen on July 3, 2025, after leaving his Musuku Junction residence to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate in Accra. When repeated attempts to reach him failed, his family filed a missing person’s report at the Taifa Police Station on July 4.

Tragically, five days later, his body was discovered partly burnt and wrapped in a woolen carpet near the Abuom–Abokobi road. According to his brother, Akwasi Amoako, the body had multiple stab wounds in the chest and neck — suggesting a brutal killing before an attempted cover-up by fire.

Amoah, originally from Old Tafo in Kumasi, had served with the Ghana Immigration Service since 2013. He was a familiar figure at the Service’s Sports Department and had built a family with his wife, a policewoman, with whom he shares two children — a 4-year-old boy and a 5-month-old baby.

Following the discovery, his body was identified by relatives and taken to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra.
Meanwhile, a Kwabenya Circuit Court has remanded a 36-year-old suspect — believed to be a friend of the deceased — in connection with the killing. Investigations are ongoing.
