Mahama Begins Volta Region Tour with Launch of 24-Hour Economy Markets

President John Dramani Mahama is set to begin a two-day working visit to the Volta Region today as part of his #ResettingGhana Tour, which focuses on engaging local communities and monitoring development projects.

The tour will begin in Juapong, where the President will perform the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of 18 24-hour Economy Model Markets to be built across the region’s districts.

During the visit, President Mahama will tour Peki College of Education (GOVCO) and the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) at Sokode. He will also inspect progress on the Asikuma–Ho road project under the Big Push Programme and commission the new Akatsi North District Police Headquarters.

Accompanied by ministers, heads of state institutions, and Members of Parliament, the President will also lead an educational durbar to promote the government’s Free Primary Healthcare Programme.

On Friday, he is expected to hold a town hall meeting with traditional leaders and residents at Ho Technical University, where participants will discuss government policies, development initiatives, and concerns affecting the region.

The visit will conclude with an inspection of the Ho Sports Stadium to assess the condition of the facility.
