Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, has been elected Chairman of the Committee on Health, Social Work and Labour at the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) under the Western Caucus.

His election is being viewed as a strong vote of confidence from lawmakers across West Africa, further strengthening Ghana’s representation and influence within the continental legislative body.

The Western Caucus—made up of countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Liberia, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Cape Verde, and Togo—played a central role in his selection.

In his new role, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh is expected to spearhead deliberations on key policy areas such as healthcare systems, labour rights, and social welfare across Africa.

His appointment is seen as both a personal milestone and a significant achievement for Ghana, particularly for his constituents in Nsawam-Adoagyiri.

He has pledged to collaborate with fellow lawmakers to promote policies that enhance citizens’ welfare and advance Africa’s integration and development agenda.
