Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, has warned that Ghana is facing a looming sanitation crisis if urgent measures are not taken.
According to Minister Ibrahim, inadequate waste management, poor drainage systems, and insufficient public awareness have created conditions that could escalate into a major public health emergency.
He stressed that without immediate intervention, communities risk outbreaks of diseases linked to poor sanitation.
He called on government agencies, private sector players, and citizens to collaborate on improving sanitation infrastructure, promoting hygiene practices, and investing in sustainable waste management solutions.
Minister Ibrahim emphasized that proactive steps are essential to prevent the crisis from worsening and to safeguard public health nationwide.
