The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed the successful evacuation of three Ghanaian traders who were injured in a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso.

In a statement issued by its Department of Public Relations, the military said the incident occurred on Saturday, February 14, 2026, when the traders were caught up in the attack while conducting business in the neighbouring country.

The evacuation formed part of a coordinated humanitarian and security response by the government to safeguard Ghanaian citizens abroad. The operation was carried out on Tuesday, February 17, by the Ghana Air Force, which airlifted the injured traders back to Ghana.

Upon arrival, the survivors were admitted to the 37 Military Hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.

The Armed Forces also extended condolences to families who lost loved ones in the attack and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
