New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate hopeful Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong is in the Ashanti Region for a final mop-up exercise to wrap up his campaign ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Speaking to delegates during engagements held on Monday, January 26, 2026, in Bekwai, Bosomtwe, New Edubiase, Fomena, and Adansi Asokwa, Agyepong described the Ashanti Region as the foundation and heartbeat of the NPP, urging delegates to recognize their historic role in shaping the party’s future.

“I am the hope and future of the NPP,” Ing. Kwabena Agyepong told delegates, stressing that the party must return to its roots if it hopes to regain power and restore public confidence.

The former General Secretary emphasized that the decision delegates will take on January 31 is critical, warning that the NPP risks remaining in opposition for as long as 12 years if it fails to elect the right flagbearer.

Ing. Kwabena Agyepong, whose campaign is anchored on unity, integrity, competence, and service, said his vision is to rebuild the party from the grassroots up and reposition it as a credible, disciplined, and people-centered political force capable of governing Ghana effectively again.

He reminded delegates of his long years of sacrifice for the party, noting that he has suffered more than many current members of the NPP, yet remained loyal through difficult times.

He pledged that he would not abandon the party or its supporters if given the mandate to lead as flagbearer—and eventually as President of the Republic.

The Ashanti Region mop-up exercise forms part of Agyepong’s final push to consolidate grassroots support, reinforce his message of “going back to the party’s foundational values,” and rally delegates behind what he describes as a moment of truth for the NPP.

As the primaries draw closer, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong’s message to delegates is clear: the future of the NPP—and its return to power—depends on the choice they make at the ballot on January 31, 2026.
