Residents and traditional authorities of Ajamesu have issued a stern warning to Prophet Francis Kwarteng, leader of the House of Power Ministry International, demanding he retract and apologize for allegedly insulting their town.

The controversy stems from reports that Prophet Kwarteng described Ajamesu as “a curse” and criticized the town, comments which have angered locals.

The tension escalated after allegations that over 300 church members were dismissed for buying food from local vendors during the church’s end-of-year service in 2025, sparking claims that the pastor is discouraging support for local businesses.

At a press conference held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 Nana Kwadwo Abu, head of the Ajamesu Aduana Royal Family, demanded a formal apology from the pastor and threatened to block church activities if the demand is not met.

In a dramatic demonstration of their anger, the residents and Nananom killed a sheep during the press conference, symbolizing the seriousness of their grievances.

Nana Kwadwo Abu said:

“We expect a retraction and apology. If he refuses, there will be consequences. Our town and traditions must be respected.”

Opinion leaders have supported the family head, describing the pastor’s alleged comment as “unfortunate” and highlighting concerns that local landmarks, like the town’s river, are being disparaged.

Youth leader Nana Bonsu, who led a demonstration against Prophet Kwarteng, expressed gratitude for the support of the Nananom and vowed that residents would not back down until a public apology is issued.

Nana Bonsu stated:

“We stand with our chiefs and people. The pastor must apologize for the disrespect shown to our town.”

The situation continues to draw attention as residents, youth groups, and opinion leaders press for accountability from the House of Power Ministry International.
