Lawyer William Kusi has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to uphold honesty, fairness, and true unity in its internal processes, warning that selective treatment and factionalism could weaken the party ahead of the 2028 elections.
Writing from the Ashanti Region, Lawyer Kusi criticized constituency chairmen who openly take sides among aspirants, emphasizing that no individual owns any region and that all aspirants deserve equal access and treatment.
He called on the Regional and National Executive Committees to discipline officials who abandon neutrality and restore a level playing field to protect the party’s integrity.

A CALL FOR HONESTY, FAIRNESS, AND TRUE UNITY IN THE NPP
Fellow patriots, at this crucial moment in our party’s history, we must speak from the heart. What happened in the Ashanti Region these past days is not just about a press release—it is about the soul and future of the New Patriotic Party.
It is heartbreaking to see constituency chairmen, who should be the referees of our internal democracy, boldly take sides and openly attack another aspirant. How did we get here? How did neutrality—the very foundation of trust—vanish from those entrusted with leading our constituencies?
We cannot preach unity in daylight and practice division at night. That is hypocrisy of the highest order, and the grassroots can see it clearly.
Every aspirant—whether represented by H.E. Hajia Samira Bawumia or Hon. Irene Naa Torshie—deserves the right to walk freely in any region of Ghana to speak to delegates. Nobody owns Ashanti Region. Nobody can declare exclusive rights over a region that belongs to the entire NPP family.
And let us remind ourselves: no aspirant, no individual, is a god to be worshipped. This culture of elevating people above the party must stop now. We are all equal under the NPP, and no one deserves special treatment or blind loyalty.
Our chairmen should be shepherds, not gatekeepers of division.
To the general public and to all loyal NPP delegates across the country, listen carefully:
If we allow this selective fairness to continue, we will walk into 2028 divided, bitter, and weak. And a divided party cannot confront the task ahead of us. Ghana deserves better.
This is why I am calling—firmly and respectfully—on the Regional Executive Committee (REC) and the National Executive Committee (NEC) to rise above factionalism and restore a level playing field immediately. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Now.
And let me be blunt:
Any chairman who abandons neutrality, openly takes sides, and uses their office to intimidate or suppress other aspirants must be suspended immediately.
This is the only way to protect the integrity of our internal elections and restore confidence at the grassroots.
Our strength has always been our unity. Our pride has always been our fairness. Our victory has always come from the trust of the ordinary supporter.
So let us return to the values that made the NPP great.
Let us stop the intimidation, the selective rules, and the double standards.
Let us discipline those who misuse their office for factional politics.
Let fairness, truth, and justice prevail.
Because if we lose ourselves today, we will lose the 2028 elections tomorrow.
May wisdom prevail. May fairness prevail. And may the NPP rise stronger than ever.
