The Asantehene is set to bring closure to the protracted Bawku chieftaincy mediation today, Monday, December 1, 2025, with a final pronouncement expected at the Manhyia Palace.
The revered monarch was entrusted with the delicate peace mission by President John Dramani Mahama, following years of deadly conflict in Bawku. His direct involvement in the renewed peace process began in April this year, when he convened both feuding factions for intensive dialogue between April 28 and 30.
Although the mediation process experienced a temporary halt, talks resumed on May 13, during which the Asantehene acknowledged that the engagements had helped restore a measure of calm to the troubled municipality.
