Five Arrested in Connection with Civilian Employee Murder at Burma Camp

Eastern Regional Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the alleged murder of Kwadwo Yeboah, a civilian employee reported missing from Ahyia Yeboah near Sokode-Juaso in the Abuakwa North Municipality.

Authorities have also launched a manhunt for another suspect believed to be at large.

Residents of Ahyia Yeboah have been gripped by fear following the killing. Mr. Yeboah was last seen on 16 November 2025, after traveling to Foforfo to retrieve a mobile phone. His disappearance prompted a community search, culminating in the discovery of his body in the Bediasi River on 25 November by a local rescue team.

The grim discovery sparked anger among residents, resulting in the burning of three houses before the Ghana National Fire Service intervened to restore calm. Police deployed a pathologist to examine the remains, which were severely dismembered and in an advanced state of decomposition. The body was subsequently released to the family for burial following public health protocols.

The Eastern Regional Police Command confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the killing and to ensure all involved are brought to justice. Community members have urged the police to expedite the investigation and hold the perpetrators accountable.
