Richard Asare Baffour, the lawyer representing Patricia Asiedua Asiamah—better known as Nana Agradaa, the former fetish priestess turned evangelist—has firmly dismissed claims that she has not been transferred to Nsawam Female Prison following her sentencing.
These rumors surfaced after Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, Director of the Crime Check Foundation, suggested that Nana Agradaa had yet to be moved to the Nsawam facility despite her recent conviction.
In a statement on Wednesday, July 9, Baffour confirmed his client is indeed incarcerated at Nsawam Prison and revealed he was en route to visit her.
“She is definitely at Nsawam Prison. I will be there in a few minutes. Any rumors claiming otherwise are completely untrue,” he said.
He further explained that although Nana Agradaa was sentenced last Thursday, some administrative paperwork delayed her transfer briefly. Once finalized, she was immediately sent to Nsawam.
“All necessary legal procedures have been completed, and we have filed a bail application which is expected to be heard next Tuesday,” Baffour added.
He expressed optimism about the bail hearing outcome, stating, “We are confident in our case and hopeful for a favorable ruling.”
Closing his remarks, Baffour urged the public and supporters to remain calm during this period, assuring them, “I want all Ghanaians and Agradaa’s supporters to stay calm. We believe we will overcome this challenge.”
