The Ohemaa Kwartemaa Foundation, led by U.S.-based philanthropist Grace Adu, has donated mathematical sets and pens to 300 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates across four schools in Ghana’s Central Region.

The items, valued at GH¢9,000, were distributed to students from Kushea Anglican JHS, Kushea M/A JHS, Abotreye D/A Basic and JHS, and Atweneboana JHS, as part of efforts to support their preparation for the upcoming examinations.

Continued support for education

Speaking on behalf of the foundation’s CEO, Charles Adu—popularly known as Wofa Charles—explained that the donation follows a similar intervention last year, when the foundation provided exercise books to the same schools.

He noted that the foundation had pledged to continue its support if students performed well in their exams, adding that the latest gesture is a fulfilment of that promise after encouraging results were recorded.

Appreciation from schools

Headteachers from the beneficiary institutions expressed gratitude for the support. Michael Quansah and Douglas Otoo thanked the foundation for its continued investment in education and pledged to work towards improving academic standards in their schools.

Students pledge to excel

Beneficiary students also welcomed the donation, describing it as timely and helpful for their exam preparation. Many promised to study diligently and achieve strong results in the upcoming BECE.

The initiative forms part of the foundation’s broader mission to promote education and empower young learners through practical support.
