Thomas Partey Charged With Two Additional Counts of Rape Ahead of November Trial
Ghanaian midfielder now faces seven rape charges and one sexual assault count ahead of his November trial.

- Thomas Partey faces two additional counts of rape following a fresh police investigation
- He is now charged with seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving four women
- Partey will stand trial on November 2, 2026, and is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13 for the new charges
Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape, prosecutors confirmed, ahead of his trial scheduled for November 2, 2026.
Partey, 32, initially faced five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in July 2025.
Those charges involve three women: two counts of rape against one woman, three counts of rape against a second, and one count of sexual assault involving a third. He pleaded not guilty to all charges during a September appearance at Southwark Crown Court.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorised the two new charges following a fresh investigation by the Metropolitan Police. According to a Met Police statement, the additional allegations relate to “non-recent offences in 2020 involving one additional woman” and were first reported in August 2025.
Partey is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13 in connection with the new charges.
The midfielder currently plays for La Liga side Villarreal, having joined the Spanish club after his Arsenal contract expired on June 30. He has made 21 appearances for Villarreal this season across all competitions, including five in the Champions League.
When the initial charges were announced, Arsenal stated that “due to ongoing legal proceedings, the club is unable to comment on the case.” Villarreal later confirmed that Partey “firmly maintains his innocence and denies all charges” and emphasised the principle of presumption of innocence while the judicial process continues.
