Six Suspects Arrested For Impersonating Military Personnel At Illegal Mining Site
Police say suspects posed as military personnel from 4BN Kumasi, seized equipment and weapons before being arrested at Kotokoum mining site.

Six individuals, including an alleged ringleader, have been arrested by the Nkawie Divisional Police Command for allegedly posing as military personnel and engaging in illegal activities at a mining site near Kotokoum in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
The operation was carried out by the Nkawie Divisional Operation Command, led by ASP Noah Yakpah together with Chief Inspector Fosu and his team.
According to police reports, the suspects stormed the active mining site dressed in military uniforms and claimed to be personnel from the 4 Battalion (4BN) in Kumasi. They are said to have caused extensive damage to equipment and property at the site.
A swift police response led to the arrest of the suspects after they were intercepted at the scene.
During a search operation, police retrieved a cache of items believed to have been used in the operation, including one firearm, a pistol, seven rounds of live ammunition, pepper spray, handcuffs, bayonets, a jackknife, tasers, military uniforms, mobile phones, and body armour.
The suspects have been identified as Abubakar Sadik, Alasfat Fuseini, Abdul Basit, Zukalanine, Seidu Sumaila, and Sharif Musah.
Police further indicated that the alleged ringleader, identified as Zulkalanine Seidu, is believed to have coordinated the operation and supplied the military uniforms used. He is said to be a local miner residing in the Kotokoum area.
The suspects have been processed and are expected to appear before the Nkawie Circuit Court sitting at Toase for prosecution.
