Two-time world 200m champion Shericka Jackson delivered a commanding performance to win the women’s 200m event at the Diamond League meeting in Xiamen.
The Jamaican sprint star stormed to victory in a time of 21.87 seconds, setting a new meeting record and narrowly missing the world-leading time by just 0.01 seconds.

Jackson took control of the race from the start and powered through the bend to open a clear lead over the rest of the field.
Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo finished second in a season-best time of 22.04 seconds, while Anavia Battle placed third with another season-best mark of 22.29 seconds.
American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, the reigning world 100m champion, also recorded a season’s best after finishing fourth in 22.38 seconds.
Great Britain’s Amy Hunt crossed the line seventh in the nine-athlete field.
Elsewhere at the meeting, Chinese teenager Yan Ziyi produced a remarkable performance in the women’s javelin event with a throw of 71.74 metres.
The 18-year-old’s effort broke the Diamond League record, the Asian record, and the world under-20 record, moving her to second place on the all-time women’s javelin rankings.
The men’s 400m hurdles also produced an exciting contest as Brazil’s Alison dos Santos edged world record holder Karsten Warholm in a thrilling duel.
Dos Santos clocked 46.72 seconds to secure victory, finishing just 0.10 seconds ahead of the Norwegian star.
