- Fernandes wins Premier League Player of the Season after helping United secure third place.
- The Portuguese midfielder equalled the league record with 20 assists this season.
- He becomes the first Manchester United player since Nemanja Vidic in 2011 to win the award.
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Season following an outstanding campaign for the Red Devils.
The Portugal international added the prestigious honour to the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year award, which he also won earlier this month.

Fernandes played a key role in Manchester United’s successful season, helping the club secure third place in the Premier League and qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The midfielder registered 20 assists during the campaign, equalling the Premier League record for the most assists in a single season after setting up a goal against Nottingham Forest last weekend.
He also contributed eight goals in 37 league appearances.
Fernandes created 132 chances throughout the season — the highest by any player in the league — finishing well ahead of Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who ranked second.
The 31-year-old becomes the first Manchester United player to win the Premier League Player of the Season award since former captain Nemanja Vidic claimed the honour in 2011.
The award was determined through a combination of public voting and selections made by a panel of football experts.
Other players shortlisted for the award included Arsenal trio David Raya, Gabriel and Declan Rice, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, Brentford’s Igor Thiago, Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, and Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
Manchester United will conclude their Premier League season with an away fixture against Brighton on Sunday.
