Police Bust Cybercrime Syndicate in Tema, Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspected cybercriminals and rescued several victims believed to have been kidnapped and forced into online fraud operations in Tema.

The intelligence-led operation, carried out on February 2, 2026, followed directives from Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno. A joint team from the Special Operations Unit and the Okpoi-Gono District Police, led by ASP Grace Owusua Gyan, executed the mission.

According to a police statement issued on February 12, the operation targeted a suspected organised cybercrime network involved in kidnapping and coercing victims into fraudulent online activities.

Two suspects Robinson Endurance and Derrick Glory were arrested at Devtraco Estate in Community 25 without resistance.

During the operation, police rescued 10 individuals who had allegedly been unlawfully detained and compelled to participate in cybercrime-related schemes.

Authorities documented the suspects, victims and retrieved exhibits to support ongoing investigations and prosecution.

The Okpoi-Gono District Police have assured the public that investigations are continuing and further updates will be communicated as the case progresses.
