A physically challenged man has been arrested after customs officers allegedly discovered 1,590 ecstasy pills concealed inside his prosthetic leg during a routine operation at Karang.
The seizure was carried out at about 2:00 a.m. on July 12, 2026, by officers of the Commercial Customs Brigade of Karang.
According to reports, the suspect was travelling on a public transport vehicle from a neighbouring country when customs officers intercepted the vehicle and conducted a routine search.
During the inspection, officers allegedly found the ecstasy pills carefully concealed inside the man’s prosthetic leg, in what authorities described as an unusually sophisticated drug-smuggling method.

Customs officials said the discovery highlights the increasingly complex tactics being used by criminal networks to transport illicit drugs across borders.
The suspect has since been taken into custody and is expected to appear before the High Court to face charges related to the alleged trafficking attempt.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case and to identify any other individuals who may have been involved in the operation.
