One person has been confirmed dead following a tragic head-on collision at the Adansi Akrokerri Junction on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

The fatal accident involved a Hyundai minivan and a Hyundai truck, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). The minivan, with registration number AS 8655-20, reportedly attempted to overtake another vehicle but crashed head-on into the oncoming truck, registered AS 3948-24. The force of the impact killed the minivan driver instantly.

A rescue team from the Fomena Fire Station, led by LFM Boateng, arrived swiftly at the scene and successfully extricated the deceased driver. The body was later handed over to the police for official processes.

Meanwhile, two occupants of the truck sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention before firefighters arrived. The collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles, with the truck veering off the road into a nearby ditch.

In the wake of the incident, the GNFS has renewed its appeal to motorists to avoid reckless overtaking and strictly observe road safety regulations to prevent needless loss of life.

The case has been officially reported by the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Office.
